On 25 June, the partners of the SANIFISH project – Cooperation and Research to Improve the Production, Marketing and Food Safety of Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Macaronesian Region and Third Countries, led by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), met in Madeira.
The agenda included the SANIFISH Interregional Congress, which brought together researchers and experts from the partner organisations to present and discuss scientific and technical advances related to food safety and the quality of fisheries and aquaculture products. Speakers included Fernando Real from ULPGC, Pilar Foronda, and other researchers from the University of La Laguna (ULL).
In addition, the FEDER project partners held a coordination meeting to review the progress of the project’s activities and plan the upcoming actions to be carried out across the participating territories.
This meeting reinforces the partners’ commitment to territorial cooperation and to promoting initiatives that contribute to improving food safety, advancing research, and enhancing the sustainability of the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
The SANIFISH project is 85% co-financed by the INTERREG MAC 2021–2027 Cooperation Programme through the European Regional Development Fund.
